CRUMLIN councillor Mervyn Rea has had another dig at the Department of Environment for classing the town as a village.
At a council meeting last Thursday, Alderman Rea couldn’t resist getting one up on officials and warned the DoE to “get its act together” after it put up signs referring to Crumlin as a village.

“I would remind members that in olden times, there was Antrim Towns Company which included Randalstown and Crumlin,” Ald. Rea said.

He added: “I bring this up again as I recently received a nice glossy brochure, Towns magazine, about businesses in Antrim, Randalstown and Crumlin.

“The Department of the Environment needs to get its act together.”
