AHOGHILL sisters Leona Rock and Sonia Barr are putting on their running shoes for a great cause.
Leona and Sonia are taking part in the Cancer Research UK Race For Life, which takes place in Coleraine on June 8.

It's not the first time the sisters have completed the 5k course - they took part in the fundraiser last year too.

Leona explaine
d: "I saw something about it last year and thought it would be a great idea to take part.

"It's a cause that close to many hearts and I thought it would be a good opportunity to raise some money for this very worthwhile charity.

"At the time, I persuaded my sister Sonia to do it with me, along with some work colleagues, but it ended up just the two of us!

"We enjoyed it so much that we're going to do it again this year."
Leona and Sonia want to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research and they have organised two events to get the ball rolling.
This Friday, May 2, Leona is hosting a coffee morning at Travelcare at 10 High Street, Antrim, where she works.

"It would be great if as many people as possible could come along. It's just a chance to have a cuppa and a chat and, hopefully, make adonation to Cancer Research."

On Saturday, May 24, the girls are hosting a charity disco night at Ballymena Golf Club.

"We've got the venue, we've got the DJ and now we're trying to secure prizes for a raffle so if any businesses or individuals are interested in helping, it would be great if they could get in touch."

It promises to be a great night and tickets cost just £5. You can get a ticket from Leona (0771 421 0664) or you can simply pay at the door on the night.
