SCOTTISH trio Biffy Clyro have announced a date at Belfast's St George's Market on Wednesday, October 28 as part of their forthcoming Irish and UK tour.
One of the foremost and most influential rock bands in the UK right now, the Ayrshire rockers will release their hugely anticipated new album in the same month.
The album - the band's fifth and second with 14th Floor Records - is being recorded in LA, once again with Puzzle's producer Garth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers), and mixed by Andy Wallace (Coldplay, Nirvana, Faith No More) and is set to be one of the most vital and monumental records of 2009.
The first single from the album, 'That Golden Rule', a distinctively heavy and angular rock race of a song, will be released on August 20.
Biffy Clyro have experienced an incredible couple of years since the release of the lauded Puzzle in June 2007, which has seen them become one of the most celebrated live bands in the country.
The album went gold in the UK selling over 100,000 units, marking the band's entry into the mainstream music market.
This was further built upon with the release of non-album single Mountains, which reached the top five.
Not only have they toured across the world in America, Japan, Australia, and Europe, but they have also played two sold-out headline tours of the UK and clocked up high-profile support slots with the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Queens of The Stone Age, Linkin Park and a colossal Wembley Stadium show with Muse.
The tour marks the start of what is set to be the next phenomenal stage for Biffy Clyro.
No stranger to Belfast, Biffy Clyro have played to sell out crowds in The Limelight, Spring & Airbrake and The Mandela Hall over the past few years.
Tickets go on sale from all usual outlets at 9am this Friday, June 19, priced at £18.50 (subject to booking fee). You can also book online at www.geturticket.com or www.ticketmaster.ie
