SIR - The reputation of Parkhall College as a highly successful school is well known to
parents, both past and present, and to the local and wider communities. Academically, at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, our pupils' performances regularly exceed the National Average for non-selective schools.

Annually, we congratulate many yo
ung people who leave Parkhall to continue their education at local Grammar Schools or Further Education Colleges. Our sporting and other extra curricular successes are highlighted weekly in the local press.

As a school, we have always promoted equality of opportunity, high quality learning, concern for individual pupils and respect for others. Our most valuable resource continues to be committed, enthusiastic and competent teachers who enjoy positive relationships with pupils and who are dedicated to improving learning.

Regardless of the outcome of the current parental ballot on the issue of Controlled Integrated Status, Parkhall College will continue to provide a high quality educational experience for all of its pupils.

As we near the end of this school term we look forward to a new year of even greater opportunities for our pupils with extended 14+ provision, the submission of a development proposal for post-16 study and a new school build. Our increased Year 8 intake for next year illustrates the confidence that parents have in Parkhall College's ability to provide a quality education for all of its pupils.

- Yours, Mavis Knox,

Acting principal, Parkhall College
