YOU can now register for the third annual Antrim Walk on Saturday, September 20, and help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Departing from Antrim Stadium, the walk takes in some of Antrim’s historic and most beautiful scenery, such as Mill Race Trail, Six Mile River, Rea’s Wood, Lough Shore Park and Castle Gardens.

Similar to last year’s successful event, the walk wil
l include three options; a 10-mile walk, a six- mile walk and a children’s nature trail. As a special and well-deserved treat to all participants of the walk, a BBQ and children’s entertainment, courtesy of this year’s sponsor Alburn – developers of Riverside Mill, Antrim - will be available on the day.

All sponsorship money raised from the walk will be donated to Macmillan Cancer to support the build of the new Macmillan Cancer Palliative Care Unit based in the grounds of Antrim Area Hospital.

Cynthia Cherry, event co-ordinator, encouraged everyone to get involved.

“This is a great opportunity for people to come together and support a very worthwhile charity. With a choice of walks and children’s entertainment on the day, the event is guaranteed to make a real family day out," Cynthia said.

She added: "Walking is the easiest form of physical activity and no matter what your age or fitness level, from a leisurely stroll to brisk steps, there will be a pace to suit everyone. Most importantly exercise is great for both your physical and mental well-being, so put your best foot forward and get walking!”

Walk registration costs £10 per adult, £4 per child or £20 family ticket (2 adults & 2 children). The children’s nature trail costs £4 per person and all registered participants will receive a complimentary backpack and post event BBQ ticket with children’s entertainment.
