This year’s c
ompetition has attracted 132 entries representing local councils, community organisations and businesses, offering them a platform to showcase their very best floral and plant arrangements.
Speaking at the official launch event in Hillsborough, Translink Chairman Veronica Palmer OBE said: "Ulster in Bloom encourages those with a passion for gardening and flair for outstanding presentation to make a real difference to their local communities. Translink is proud to support the awards for the 11th consecutive year and reinforce our commitment to promoting a more sustainable lifestyle and looking after our unique natural heritage.
"Entries never fail to impress our expert judging panel and the standard of last year’s winners was exceptionally high. Judges were especially impressed by the extent of sustainable planting that demonstrated real sensitivity towards the natural environment. It is important we continue to reward those who endeavour to grow and maintain these exquisite displays which have the capacity to contribute to economic and social prosperity, boosting civic pride and aiding community development.
“This year, we once again look forward to enjoying and celebrating plant and floral displays of the finest quality.”
